What does Co-Producing the Local Offer Mean?
It means that Swindon Borough Council will be working with children, young people and parents/carers to use their combined skills and creativity to shape the support that exist to benefit local children and young people.
As part of the Children and families Act, Swindon Borough Council is required to produce its Local Offer in partnership with children, young people and their families. The local authority’s focus is on putting children and young people at the heart of planning and decision making through co-production and a person-centred approach. It aims to engage young people and their families in all processes, particularly in relation to the Local Offer, Education, Health and Care Plans, the commissioning of services and Strategic Decision Making.
In order to ensure the Local Offer is meeting the needs of children and families in Swindon, the Council will annually gather feedback and use this to shape the services and support on offer locally.
