Shopmobility provides the use of manual and powered wheelchairs and scooters to help people with limited mobility or sight problems.
What we do
Shopmobility provides a selection of manual and powered wheelchairs, scooters and walkers to help people with mobility difficulties to shop and use the other facilities in the town centre.
Who can use us?
Anyone with limited mobility can use the scheme whether through pemanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age. Persons under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult or carer.
Where we are
Swindon Shopmobility is situated on the ground floor of the Wyvern Car Park in Islington Street. Parking is available when using equipment borrowed from the scheme. Please note that temporary day members are not entitled to free parking.
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 4.30pm, Saturday 9am - 3.30pm. (All equipment to be back by 4pm Monday to Friday, and by 3pm on Saturdays). Closed Sundays and all Bank Holidays.
The latest time equipment is available for use is 2pm on Saturdays and 3pm all other times.
Membership: There is a one-off membership fee for regular users and a low cost hire charge for day members. You will need to provide two forms of identification and have a scooter assessment upon new membership. There is a small daily usage fee for members and for temporary members.
