HIV & AIDS
Being diagnosed as HIV positive can often be a traumatic and confusing time for people. Public attitudes and misconceptions around HIV/AIDS often mean that it is difficult for people to reveal their status, which in turn can lead to feelings of isolation and distress.
Terrance Higgins Trust offer services for people living with or affected by HIV throughout Swindon. Our aim is to provide confidential information and holistic support to all people infected and affected by HIV.
Terrance Higgins Trust is the UKs leading charity providing support to people living with HIV. Our vision is a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.
We have a team of dedicated local volunteers who play a vital role in helping us to raise awareness and provide a range of non-judgemental care for people living with HIV in Swindon.
We are involved in health promotion and local events such as Swindon Pride, Fresher events at the local colleges, World AIDS Day and other Diversity Events.
We also run a confidential drop-in service at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
